The OCR Cambridge nationals is an engaging practical and inspiring approach to learning in ict. Learners willbe taught industry relevant material to suit a broad range of learning styles and abilities.
The Cambridge nationals were founded upon the recommendations of The Government’s Wolf report, and were created in partnership with teachers, learners, education specialists and industry leading employers. We believe this qualification offers all the learners a solid foundation to their future studying and career.
Learners will be immersed in a stimulating learning environment covering topics such as;
• Using ICT in Business
• Handling data
• Investigating computer systems
• Computer programming
• Computer hardware and networks
The ICT skills that the learners will acquire are essential for success employment, higher education and will contain fundamental transferable skills required by employers. Learners will study this next generation qualification which will cover aspects from their everyday lives. This will include items from personal computers to smart phones, apps and websites.
In line with recommendations from the Wolf report, Carleton Community High School believes that through a combination of external assessment, examinations and visiting exam board moderators, all learners will be able to aspire to excellence.
