Music KS3 Homework

KS3 Music homework is topic based (in line with the topic of work being covered). The homework tasks and competition dates can be found by opening the ‘Show My Homework’ icon on the school website. Students have their own login details to access their homework.

 

Music Extra Curricular Groups

Autumn term – Chorus and company rehearsals for the Christmas production (days vary for specific rehearsals).

Spring term - All of extra-curricular activities are based around our school production (days vary for specific rehearsals).

Summer term – Rehearsals for the summer production(days vary for specific rehearsals).

GCSE Music Plus One Sessions – Composition support for Year 10 and Year 11 students (Wednesdays 3.15 - 4.15).

 

Music curriculum – KS3.

As part of the Music curriculum students will develop their understanding of performing, composing and listening. They will also develop their ability to review and evaluate their own work and the work of others.

Our students follow a two week timetable. In year 7 and 8 Music is delivered in two, one hour timetabled lessons in which students follow half term units of work.

In year 9 in Music is delivered through a one hour practical music session and a one hour music technology session in which students develop their understanding of computer based music programmes. The year 9 the units of work last for a full term.
